Project details
Fancy a job with a sea view? With the beach and sun in front of the door? Working Holiday in the trendy seaside resort of Matanzas on Chile's Pacific coast can offer you exactly that: the perfect mix of "working" and "holiday".
With this Working Holiday program, you work directly on the beautiful long sandy beach of Matanzas. At the beginning of 2000, the once very sleepy fishing village of Matanzas turned out to be a very popular travel destination for Chileans. The gorgeous beach and waves perfect for beginners and advanced surfers attract guests all year round. Matanzas Beach is a true mecca for surfers.
Our program location is in a hotel with a unique beachfront location that, since 2008, has been offering accommodation for up to approximately 40 guests in 15 comfortable rooms - most with sea views.
Most guests come from Chile, Argentina, and the USA.
The restaurant of the hotel with the spacious terrace right on the sea is a hip meeting place for surf lovers and beach fans. Hot tubes and a swimming pool are among the offers to relax after sport. The hotel's kitchen also enjoys a very good reputation.
A small supermarket and the town center with bars, restaurants and shops are within walking distance.
The hotel and restaurant employ a team of about 30 people aged around 20 to 55 years. The staff takes on various responsibilities in the areas of restaurant, bar, kitchen, bakery, room service, reception, and administration as well as gardeners.

Location
The small town of Matanzas is located about 160 kilometers southwest of Santiago de Chile, the countryâs capital. Pichilemu, another well-known surfing hot spot on Chile's Pacific coast, is about 55 kilometers to the south.
Matanzas is in the 6th region of Chile, which is known for great bathing resorts and extensive wine valleys with exclusive wineries. The famous wine route La Ruta del Vino runs through this region.
The area around the beautiful colonial city of Santa Cruz lures with traditional country life, wine tours, horseback riding excursions and one of the best equipped historical museums in the country.
