Spanish school
Our language school in Pichilemu is located just outside the center of the small, pretty coastal town, in a lovely wooden house with a great patio. The relaxed atmosphere goes perfectly with the quiet way of life of Pichilemu and invites you to relax and unwind after the Spanish class. The city center and the large beach can be reached in about 15 minutes on foot, while smaller beaches are 5 minutes away.
The language school in Pichilemu was founded in 2013 to offer a high quality language program in a very informal setting. The language school right by the sea offers a wonderful contrast to studying Spanish in the capital itself. For students who would like to get to know both locations, the courses in Santiago and Pichilemu can be combined.
The majority of Spanish students in Pichilemu come from North America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. There is an interesting mix of cultures and learning with other globetrotters is even more fun!
Thanks to the privileged location right on the coast and endless beaches, leisure activities are by no means neglected. The language school in Pichilemu offers leisure activities in the afternoons, evenings and weekends.
For example, the school organizes Surf, kite and SUP courses in all levels of difficulty and, in addition to beach and water sports activities, also offer a wide range of cultural activities. The school also offers yoga classes and outdoor activities on site. Bicycles and mountain bikes can be rented in Pichilemu itself, so that you can explore the beautiful surroundings on your own.
As a hotspot for the international surfing scene, Pichilemu offers a lively nightlife with many trendy bars, discos and restaurants, especially in summer. In addition, various (international) surfing competitions and music events are held in Pichilemu all year round.
Leisure activities
Depending on the number of students and their interest, leisure activities such as cooking classes, dancing classes, yoga, horseback riding, excursions, outdoor sports, etc. are offered. Some activities have an extra cost.
Internet
WIFI is available at the school and can be usded free of charge.
School location
Pichilemu is located at the Pacific coast, 3,5 hours southeast of Chile's capital, Santiago de Chile. Although this region is known for its huaso (cowboy) culture, it’s most famous for its spectacular beaches and excellent surfing conditions for everyone, from beginners to advanced surfers.
In addition to surfing, visitors can spend their time mountain biking, kayaking, kite surfing, doing stand-up paddle (SUP), doing yoga, horseback riding, and visiting nearby farms, artisans, and wineries.
Pichilemu has primarily been a summer get-away for Chileans escaping inland heat in January and February. Consequentially, summer time is packed and lively, while off-season visits are more tranquile, although surfers come almost year-round.
Pichilemu holds on to many cultural traditions rarely seen in other parts of Chile. Huaso (cowboy) culture is prominent. Straw-hatted cowboys in ponchos roam the dirt roads, and school children often participate in traditional dancing „Cueca“ dancing competitions. Cueca is the Chilean national dance and strongly related to rural huaso culture. Despite the rural traditions, modern life is rapidly shaping Pichilemu. International big-wave surf competitions are held every year during the summer months, and several regional and national surf competitions take place throughout the whole year.
Over the last decade, Pichilemu has grown significantly and has become a very popular summer destination for young, laid-back visitors and families. Now that it is an international surf scene hotspot, Pichilemu also offers a great variety of bars, nightclubs, and restaurants.
Spanish classes
The language school has developed a very successful language program that guarantees fast learning success and needs-based teaching.
