Spanish school
Our Spanish school in Cusco is located in the Santa Monica area, a very quiet and safe neighborhood. This is a non-tourist area which provides our students a very authentic experience of Peruvian life and culture. There are very nice restaurants and cafes around, the main banks and supermarkets are just a couple blocks away. The Mall Real plaza and other commercial centers are in the same area as well as gyms, clinics and all of our homestay families are just 5 to 15 minutes walk to the school.
The historic center of Cusco with all its pretty colonial buildings, spacious squares and imposing churches can be reached easily by local transportation within 15 minutes.
The school administration and teaching staff can look back on many years of successful work. The lessons and teaching methods are constantly adapted to current standards.
The school building has 5 well-equipped classrooms with a total capacity of 25 students, a coffee area, a small kitchen, a patio with green areas, a terrace and free Wi-Fi.
A Spanish course in Cusco gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the mysterious world of the Inca Empire. In addition to leisure activities, Cusco offers many cultural and historical highlights. A visit to famous Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley is an absolute must-do for every visitor to Cusco!
Leisure activities
Our language school in Cusco offers activities such as city tours, cooking classes, dancing classes, excursions, sports, grammar workshops, conversation exercises, etc. Some activities and excursions require an additional payment on site.
Internet
WIFI is available in the school and can be used free of charge by the students.
School location
Cusco, the most visited city in Peru, is located in the Andean highlands. It once was the capital of the Inca Empire. The name means "navel of the world".
Cusco is located at an altitude of almost 3,500 meters and is home to around 1.3 million people. The adventurous history as the capital of the Inca Empire, the sights in the area and the beautiful landscape in the middle of the Andes make Cusco the highlight of every Peru trip all year round.
Cusco gained world fame in 1911, when archaeologists discovered the hidden Inca city of Machu Picchu. Machu Picchu is now one of the Seven World Wonders and is well worth a visit: The view of the mighty walls in front of the steep green mountain backdrop is simply breathtaking!
Cusco itself is a pretty and well-preserved colonial city and the Plaza de Armas, which is surrounded by magnificent buildings and the imposing cathedral, is the symbol of the city. There are Inca excavations, old temples and other pre-Hispanic buildings, which unfortunately were largely destroyed by the Spaniards. The remaining Inca ruins and downtown Cusco with its colonial buildings were declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1983.
Today's Cusco presents a perfect mix of modern tourist metropolis and old traditions. Folklore performances and descendants of the indigenous people dressed in traditional costumes shape the cityscape as well as chic office buildings and hotels.
Spanish classes
Our Spanish courses in Cusco provide quality language lessons as well as deep insights into the legendary Inca culture. The lessons are very efficient and diverse: Students make quick progress on the one hand and have fun on the other hand. When designing the lessons, there (almost) no limit to the creativity of the teachers. In order to make the lessons as interesting and exciting as possible, audio-visual aids, current newspaper articles, role-playing games and targeted exercises are used. The curriculum led to a remarkable success that the school can be proud of. The courses are based on three main areas: grammar, listening and speaking. Each part is trained and repeated through targeted exercises. Writing training is also included in the exercises.
Spanish levels
On the first day of school there will be a placement test to determine your language skills. This is used to classify the appropriate language level. There are 6 levels of difficulty (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of References for Languages).

Accommodation
To make you feel at home also far away from home, we can take care of a cozy accommodation for you, which completes your language program in Cusco. All accommodations are carefully selected and regularly checked.
Homestay:
Our students mainly live in Peruvian homestays. There is a single room available for you and you will be provided with half board (breakfast and dinner). The homestay accommodation gives you the unique opportunity to experience the Peruvian daily life up close, to taste the exquisit Peruvian cuisine and to learn a lot about the culture and lifestyle. No tourists will get such deep insights, this will make your Peru experience unique!
Residence / Homestay (no meals):
The residence is a good option for students who prefer to be a little more independent or prefer to spend most of their time with like-minded people. In this case, too, you have a single room, but you have to take care of your own catering. Common areas such as kitchen, living and dining room as well as the bathrooms are shared by the residents.
