Spanish school
Our language school is located in the heart of a beautiful, historic district of Cuenca, just a block away from the main square and the cathedral. The school building is a colonial house. The old walls of this charming building create a magical environment and you will definitely fall in love with the vibes, a perfect place to learn Spanish.
The tasteful inner courtyard, which invites our students to relax, read, drink coffee or surf the Internet, is also of typical colonial style.
Our Spanish school in Cuenca is one of the most renowned schools in the city. All teachers have long experience teaching Spanish as a foreign language and encourage students to actively immerse themselves in Ecuadorian culture.
There is also a small cafeteria that offers snacks during breaks.
Leisure activities
In the afternoons you can take part in the numerous activities that the school offers. These include Salsa classes, cooking lessons and cocktail mixes, lessons about Ecuadorian culture, history, conversation exercises, etc.
On weekends, excursions are made in the enchanting surroundings of Cuenca, e.g. to the Ingapirca ruins or the El Cajas National Park. Weekend trips have an extra cost and are optional.
Internet
WIFI is available in the school and can be used free of charge by the students.
School location
Of all the cities in Ecuador, Cuenca is probably the most charming. With its cobbled streets, old churches, colonial buildings, large parks and inner-city rivers, the city is just lovely. The historic town center, which was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999, is particularly picturesque.
The history of the city begins long before the arrival of those who conquered it: Inca and Spaniards. According to arqueologists, Cuenca's foundation goes back to a Cañari settlement called Guapondeleg, which dates back to 500 AD. Translated into English, Guapondeleg means "land as big as the sky." Today Cuenca is a modern city with historical charm.
The city is located in the highlands of Ecuador at over 2,500 meters above sea level and has around half a million inhabitants. Like the rest of the Ecuadorian Andes, Cuenca enjoys a mild climate all year round. The days are mostly warm, while it cools down significantly at night, so you need light sweaters and jackets to go out.
There are only two seasons in Cuenca: The rainy season and the dry season. The dry season is from June to December, the rainy season is from January to May. It that time, the days often start bright and sunny, while showers can occur in the afternoon.
Cuenca is an ideal place for travelers who want to live in a colonial city but like it a little quieter than in the busy capital of Quito. Instead of modern skyscrapers, you will find small museums, art galleries, craft shops, cozy cafes and trendy restaurants with excellent, traditional and international food at affordable prices. In the evening, the bars fill up with people who love to go out, but not as long as in other places: the inhabitants of Cuenca are considered to be quite conservative, but know how to combine their original values with modern everyday life in a harmonious way.

Accommodation
The best way to learn a foreign language is to immediately apply what you've learned in addition to the theoretical school lessons. For this reason, our students in Cuenca can live in an Ecuadorian homestay.
Living in a local household is an extremely enriching experience. It enables you to apply the knowledge learned in the language school "in real life", to understand linguistic subtleties and of course to gain insights into the Ecuadorian culture and everyday life.
We have carefully selected our hosts to make you feel comfortable from the start. All of our accommodations are located near the language school, so it can be reached on foot or by a short bus ride. You live in a single room, while the bathroom is shared with the hosts. Homestay accommodation includes full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner).
