Spanish school
Our Spanish school in Guatemala is located in the beautiful city of Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1979. The school is a pretty, large, colonial-style house in the middle of town. Classes take place wherever you want: in a classroom, in the garden or in the shade of the hallways around the patio.
A kitchen and lounge are available for the students, and those who do not want to travel with their laptop, can use one of the schoolâs computers. Free coffee is provided in the mornings to energize the brain before studying.
Classes are tailored to the individual needs of each student. All courses are designed to learn and practice the Spanish language in a casual and very natural way.
Our language school in Antigua was founded in 2000. Since then, countless students from all over the world have learned Spanish here, they have been introduced to the culture of Guatemala and had an unforgettable stay abroad.
In addition to the Spanish course, the school offers interesting cultural activities and excursions to the surrounding areas. The schoolâs philosophy is, that learning a foreign language always includes an understanding of the culture and history of the host country!
Leisure activities
Are regularly offered by the language school (e.g. city tour, cooking classes, dancing classes, excursions, sports, grammar workshops, conversation exercises, etc.). The activities can be subject to change and some require an additional payment on site.
Internet
WiFi is available at the school and can be used free of charge by the students.
School location
Learn Spanish in a historic colonial town and UNESCO World Heritage site! Thanks to pleasant climate all year round, Antigua is always a good choice for a language study trip.
The most famous and probably the most beautiful city in Guatemala was founded by the Spanish in the early 16th century and built at 1,500 meters above sea level, in the shadow of three volcanoes - a dream setting! Imagine the city without the cars and electric lights, and you might think you were still in the 16th century. The baroque colonial architecture of Antigua is very picturesque and gives an idea of the prosperity of earlier times. Antigua still has only around 35,000 inhabitants and thus has been able to maintain its small-town charm. But that doesn't mean that there is nothing going on there! Antigua is considered the capital of tourism in Guatemala and is the perfect starting point for trips through this beautiful country of the Maya. Due to the many visitors, there is a lively (night) life in the many fancy bars and restaurants and during the day, you can observe a busy hustle and bustle on the picturesque streets and squares. Spanish cultural influences meet the Mayan culture of the many indigenous people.
This can be experienced particularly well in the Holy Week, âSemana Santaâ, the most important festivity in the city. During this week there are processions through the city and local artists spread beautiful flower carpets with religious scenes all over the city.
The weather in Antigua is very pleasant all year round. Due to the altitude, it is not too hot nor too humid in summer, but nice and warm. The rainy season lasts from May to September and there are rain showers almost every day, which does not bother too much considering the pleasant temperatures.
If you want to learn Spanish in a place that is both authentic and touristic, exciting, idyllic and located in an incredibly beautiful setting, Antigua is the place for you!

Accommodation
An important part of language travel in Guatemala is living comfortably, so that you feel at home even far away from home. Our accommodations have been carefully selected and meet the living standards of the middle class in Guatemala.
For our Spanish students, typical homestay accommodations are available in the beautiful city of Antigua.
Living in a Guatemalan homestay allows you to put your Spanish skills into practice on a daily basis. As a guest in a local household, you learn more about culture and traditions and you can try typical dishes. You get a single room and of course you can use common rooms such as the living room and dining room. Homestay accommodations include full board from Monday to Saturday.
