Volunteering/Interning in Psychology and Psychiatry (Ecuador)
I had a really good arrival to Quito. I love my homestay, Monika is fantastic and food is delicious. We are a few volunteers in the house and it is good to do some activities and get to know Quito and surroundings. The clinic is good but I am at the moment in palliative care where honestly, there is not much psychological work to do so I am not doing much. Also, I am not with any tutor or psychologist experienced, I am just with another guy who is doing his internship in neuropsychology and he passes some tests to the patients. I asked the doctor to move to psychiatric, where the clinical psychologists are, but he said I can’t until next Monday. Fortunately, Monika and Fernanda are trying to talk to them and let me move to psychiatric this week, hopefully I can. Apart from this, in general it is been an amazing experience 🙂
