Spanish school
Our Spanish school is located in a pretty old house with a nice flair in Uruguay's capital Montevideo. It is situated right in the beautiful and quiet Parque Rodo district, from where it is easy to reach the historic city center. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and green parks close to the school that invite you to linger. The school guarantees quality lessons and a lot of fun learning Spanish.
The school is equipped with well-furnished classrooms, a cozy lounge and a computer room with free internet access for the students. There is also a kitchen, where cooking classes can take place, as well as a terrace with a backyard, where students like to hang out during breaks or after class and make plans for their free time.
Thanks to the excellent connection to the public transport network, other parts of the city can be reached quickly and easily.
The Spanish school in Montevideo is attended by students from all over the world. The audience is very mixed and from all ages, but primarily students between 20 and 40 years.

School location
Uruguay's capital Montevideo is often referred to as the “little sister” of Buenos Aires. In fact, they are similar, as are the cultures of Argentina and Uruguay. However, Montevideo is much smaller and less hectic.
Around 2 million of Uruguay's approximately 3.4 million inhabitants live in the Montevideo metropolitan area. The city is the country's economic, administrative and cultural center. Cultural and folkloric events, important international exhibitions and music festivals take place all year round. Culture lovers will get their money's worth at concerts, theater performances or in one of the many museums.
Montevideo is located in an absolute top location on the Rio de la Plata and with access to the Atlantic. The port is one of the most important ones in all of South America, which also handles most of the country's total foreign trade.
The beach promenade (la rambla) along the Rio de la Plata is popular among foreign visitors and locals alike for walks. Montevideo has retained much of its original colonial charm and offers many green parks, historical monuments, imposing churches and other magnificent colonial buildings.
In addition to the memories of the Portuguese and Spanish colonial times, Montevideo has one thing in particular to offer: A distinctive nightlife for everybody! Especially in the old town center, restaurants, pubs, discos, tango shows and bars with live music are to be found.
Uruguay's capital is an attraction for many visitors from all over the world and it often serves as a base for tours to nearby seaside resorts on the Atlantic. The most famous place is the city of Punta del Este, where the Latin American jet is bustling, especially in the summer months.
Spanish classes
The focus lies on grammar and communication training, as these are the basic components of language learning. Each level has its own focus, tailored to the previous knowledge of the students. The teachers use different teaching methods to train the different communication channels (listening, reading, speaking, writing) and to practice the grammar. Short videos, texts, newspaper articles and the school's own booklets are used to support teaching. Topics such as culture, politics and history of Uruguay are included in the lessons so that the students learn a little more about their host country in addition to the language.
Spanish levels
On the first day of school there will be a placement test to determine your language skills. It is used to assign you to a group with an according level. There are 6 levels of difficulty (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) according to the CEFR (Common European Framework of References for Languages).
Teacher
Native Spanish speakers
Class duration
55 minutes
Language diploma
At the end of the course, a certificate will be issued to confirm your language level.
Group course
20 lessons / week. Maximum 6 students / group.
This is the most popular Spanish course and is available in all levels. Grammar is practiced two hours a day, with teachers providing written and oral examples, doing exercises, and giving students plenty of opportunity to ask questions as well as practice what they have learned. The other two hours are used for conversation training, always taking into account the group's areas of interest. The focus here is on the students learning to express themselves in Spanish and lose their fear of the foreign language.
Private course
15 lessons / week.
The attention of your Spanish teacher is 100% yours. The Spanish course is completely adapted to your personal needs and interests.
Intensive course
30 lessons / week. Maximum 6 students / group.
Group course as described above with 10 additional hours of group lessons.
